Cashback 2010 Minimize

Capital Hospice receives a giant check from PER Karen Thiebaut.  The check was presented at festivities on 9 April (above), followed by another memorial balloon release in our parking lot (right). Lighted balloons are released in honor of those who have passed, especially those helped by a hospice.

CASH BACK SUMMARY - 2010

The CASH BACK event has come and gone however I thought it would be nice to let everyone know exactly what this event meant in terms of income to this lodge.

Ticket sales for this event totaled $23,900 and with Sponsorships, Auction proceeds and Donations the total income for the event was $31,680.  Expenses including the $8,000 cash payout totaled $15,106.53.  The Department of Charitable Gaming received $268.88 of this expense money.  The net proceeds total over $16,000 and the final split of money was $11,601.43 to Hospice and $4,972.04 to Lodge charities.

In addition to the above revenue I would like to point out that the combined receipts for the bar upstairs and downstairs was in excess of  $2,600 for the evening.  The lounge bar

closed 9 boxes of Hog pull tabs and also several Pick a Nut games for a cash drop in the

safe of  over $1,600.

As you can see this event did very well for our Lodge as well as for Hospice.  I thank all who supported this event.

Dear Ms. Mekenney and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks,

It seems hard to believe it but my first semester at Cornell University has already come to an end.  I was very lucky in that I had a very smooth transition to college life.  I have relished every moment of the experience so far. ...I am looking forward to the coming semester, and the new challenges that will present themselves.  Until then, I plan on relaxing during winter break and enjoying my family and friends’ company.  I am so grateful that you helped make this past semester possible for me.  I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and wouldn’t exchange it for anything!  Cornell really does seem to be the perfect school for me, and it would have been a real challenge for my family and me to pay the full tuition.  So, thank you again!  I will be sure to keep you updated on my progress.  Wishing you a happy holiday!

Sincerely,
Erika Kleibrink
