From the Desk of the Auxiliary President

February 2012

February - a busy time for the Auxiliary.  We are preparing our budget for the new year that begins in April and starting the enlistment of Officers and committee chairpersons for our many committees. We are also reviewing our Charities list - it is such a proud thing for us to be able to award $7,000 to 16 different charities each year.

We have 2 new members who will be installed in February - would you like to join them? We have 2 meeting times each month: Our formal (sort of) business meeting each 2nd Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30 and our informal - yet very fun and productive, potluck lunch meetings the 3rd Tuesday of each month starting at noon.

I said this in last month's article but it is an endeavor worth repeating - Joan Gavin and Barbara Marshall spearheaded the selling of over 1 thousand 2011 White House Ornaments!   The proceeds we generate from each purchase go into our charity fund – what a tremendous boost these great sales will give to the amounts we have to give away! Thank you to everyone who purchased an ornament and to Barbara and Joan for all the time and effort they put into the sales.

Also - another big thank you to Ardis Morton who faithfully sends get well and birthday cards to our members. Ardis - you do a great service for our Auxiliary and you are a very special lady. You are appreciated by all.

Please join us - if you have not already! See any member for an application.

Sincerely,

Brenda Slingerland

President
